Description

A gourmet grilled cheese sandwich featuring creamy brie and sweet pear, elevated with honey and fresh thyme.


Ingredients

  • 2 slices of bread (your choice, preferably sourdough)
  • 2 oz Brie cheese, sliced
  • 1 ripe pear, thinly sliced
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • Fresh thyme leaves
  • Butter, for grilling

Instructions

  1. Spread butter on one side of each slice of bread.
  2. Layer the Brie cheese, pear slices, a drizzle of honey, and fresh thyme leaves on the unbuttered side of one slice.
  3. Top with the second slice of bread, buttered side UP.
  4. Heat a skillet over medium heat and place the sandwich in the pan.
  5. Grill for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until the bread is golden and the cheese is melted.
  6. Remove from skillet, slice, and serve warm.

Notes

For variations, you can use goat cheese or gouda. Fresh thyme enhances the flavor, but dried thyme is a substitute in a pinch.
